In 1977 we expanded our scope of services to building and developing entire communities and custom homes. While building over 1,000 homes, the Thompson companies have received over 100 national, regional, and local awards for excellence in building.

Our firm was founded in 1983 by Ann Capron, who was inspired by the modern ‘Open Concept’ floorplan, popular at the time in California. Convincing Philadelphia’s more conservative Main Line clients that these plans offered convenience and ease of living over more traditional floorplans was not easy but, eventually, the more contemporary style caught on. Ann’s trailblazing personality and challenge-of-the-status-quo inform the brand of the firm today. Beyond our commitment to beautiful, innovative and practical design, though, the firm prides itself most on our service to our clients. At all times, we strive to provide leading edge design, drawings, supervision and responsive communication, in all phases of our work.
